LDN in the Management of Multiple Sclerosis

Dr. Ayre prescribes low-dose Naltrexone in the management of Multiple Sclerosis. Consultations can be done through our office or by phone. Phone consultations are $200.00 for an hour and a half and pertinent medical records can be faxed prior to the consultation.

LDN or low-dose Naltrexone is an FDA approved drug that was indicated as having beneficial effects in a variety of disorders through the observations of Dr. Bernard Bihari 1985. Dr. Bahari began his work with Naltrexone in 1985 and has since pursued clinical research on the therapuetic effects of this medication in a variety of disorders.

Through the work of Dr. Bihari, there is a wealth of clinical evidence demonstrating the efficacy of LDN in halting the symptoms and effects of Multiple Sclerosis. MS is is an auto-immune disease where the body’s own immune system attacks the tissue (myelin) that lines nerves. This is what produces the tremors, numbness, fatigue, and spasms characteristic of the disease. LDN stimulates the body’s immune system to work properly, thus halting the progression of the disease and easing or eliminating further symptoms.

Where To Get LDN

Naltrexone can be obtained through various compounding pharmacies. The Compounder in Aurora, Illinois will mail prescriptions to your home. A month supply of 3mg Naltrexone is $25.00 or less, depending upon the strength and quantity.
